About Us

Metropolitan Home was established in 1984 as one of Vancouver’s first stores to sell vintage mid-century modern furniture, lighting and collections.

Over the years our tastes have evolved and we now carry an eclectic mix of design styles ranging from antiques to art deco to contemporary.

We like to offer one of a kind vintage industrial pieces that mix well with licensed pieces of vintage modernism.

Met Home specializes in Canadian, American, English, Italian, and Scandinavian pieces that are well crafted and come with a story.

We focus on finding designer pieces such as Herman Miller, Knoll, France and Son, France and France, France and Daverkosen, Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Charles and Ray Eames, Finn Juhl, Ercol, Hans Olsen, Bertoia, Gilbert Rohde, Lotte lamps, Canadian Wooden Aircraft Company, Morrison and Bush Associates, James Donahue, George Nelson, Percival Lafer, Stag Furniture and many others.

The store also features a variety of framed art pieces, created by local Vancouver artists. We’re quite proud to sell new cushions made locally by Identity.
